Paro and Thimphu Tour (5 days)
Fly into Paro by Drukair flight or Bhutan Airlines. After immigration and customs formalities, you will be received by the representative of Soedhar Bhutan Travels. Check into your respective hotel, get some refreshments. Getting everthing settled in the hotel and making a plan for trip.
On the second day sight seeing of Paro valley, visiting Paro museum and Paro Dzong. On the same day sight seeing the Drugyel valley and Jhomolhari Mountain and visiting Ruins of Drugyel Dzong which is under construction.
From the morning hike, up to the legendary Taktsang Monastary (Tiger’s Nest) with horse riding. The name Taktsang translates to “The Tiger’s Nest”. This temple is one of the most holy sites in the kingdom and clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 hundred meters above the Paro Valley and visit Kichhu Lhakhang and Dumtse Lhakhang located at a few miles from the Paro town. Then drive to Capital (Thimphu) which is one hour ride from Paro.
Sight seeing Thimphu valley, go to weekend Centenary Vegetable market and visiting the statue of Buddha Dordenma in Kuensel Phodrang overlooking Thimphu city, about 100 metres (330 ft) above the Wang Chuu river bed. This location was the palace of Sherab Wangchuck, the 13th Desi Druk. The statue will house over one lakh (one hundred thousand) smaller Buddha statues, each of which, like the Buddha Dordenma itself, will be made of bronze and gilded in gold. Upon completion, it will be one of the largest Buddha rupas in the world, at a height of 51.5 metres (169 ft).
Visiting Chari and Tango Monastry which is located at the Northern part of Thimphu valley. If you are interested in arts and handicrafts of BHUTAN visit National Textile Museum and National Institute for Zorig Chuzum (13 varieties of arts and crafts). Then in the mid afternoon, after having lunch, drive back to Paro to catch next day’s flight.
