The Snowman trek is frequently closed for because of heavy snowfall and trekking becomes impossible during winter season.The best time to go is from September to mid-October.

Itineraries:

Day 1

Begin the trekking by climbing through conifer forest and after few hours you will reach to Sharna Zampa. About 15 minutes beyond Sharna Zampa you will reach to Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National park. Continue hiking about two hours, then you will reach Shing Karap a stone house. Walk again for few hours you will reach a wooden bridge where you have to cross Paro chu. From there the route goes down and continue until you reach to camp site in Soi Yaksa. Follow the trial along Paro chu until you reach the place of Thangthangka.

Day 2

From early morning you will resume the journey by climbing up beyond the camp.By half an hour you will reach to the IMTART camp. Continue the hike untill you reach the village of Soe and an hour walk from Soe will lead to Takethang (Cluster of stone house). Traverse opposite side where you will see few houses of Dangochang and from here you have to climb steep uphill until you reac to camp site at Jangothang.

Day 3

From jangothang the slope is gentle and if you walk for four hours you will get an excellent view of Jichu Drakye. Then you will go up in the direction of Jhomolhari.

Day 4

This is the route from Jangothang to Lingzhi. Descend and cross a log bridge to the left pank of Paro chu and hike until you reach reach to the slope of Nyile La which is four hours walk from the camp site. The you can climb up towards north west and continue walking until you reach to Cha Shi Thang camp site. Then hike towards Lingzhi which is at the opposite side of Jaji Chu.

Day 5

The fifth day is from Lingzhi to Chebisa. Cross the stream below the Shachi Thang and climb up to opposite side of chorten below Lingzhi Dzong. About an hours from Lungzhi you will reach to Goyul. From Goyul you have to climb upfor one hour until you reach to chorten and then and take a short descent which will lead to Chebisa valley and it is your designated camp site.

Day 6

Climb up the hill behind Chebisa and at the altitude of 4440 m you will Gogula. Then the route descend down through rhododendron forest and to the stream. From there you should make a little clmb up and down to Shakshe-pasa which is the site for helipad.From here you should follow the trial up to the north until you reach to the valley of Shomuthang which is your camp site.

Day 7

From Shomuthang hike to Jhari la which is at the place of two hours from the camp site. Descend down the route until you reach Jholithang chu and cross the log bridge and follow the river upstream. Then you will reach to the Tsheri Jathang and climb up for few hours then you will reach to the camping place in Robulthang at 4160m.

Day 8

From the camp a route should lead up to the pass at Sinche La where you will see the snow cover on the peak of Gangchen Ta. Descend down the hill and cross the river called Kango chu and and follow the valley upward until you reach to Limithang Camp site.

Day 9-10

Here you will spend two days for trekking where you have to cross severalmuddy side streams, step rockymuntans and waterfall. After several adventure you will reach to Laya.

Day 11

From Laya you should take the route that leads down to Lunana. You shuld climb up the hill top over the Mo chu and the Rhodo chu. It continues up to Rhodochu valley and you will reach to camp site at Rhodophu.

Day 12

From Rhodophu cross the bridge, follow the river for half an hour and climb up the high open valley where you will reach Tsomola at 4900m. Continue hiking until you reach camp site below Gangla Karchung at Narethang.

Day 13

You should climb the Gangla Karchungla for one hour and descend from Treri Gang. As you go down the path become very narrow and steep. From few hours of walk the Tang chu down stream. There you will reach to camp site along the river at Tarina.

Day 14

From Tarina you the path should lead to Woche after following Tang chu river and crossing several waterfalls. Woche is the earliest village in Lunana.

Day 15

From Woche you should climb up to the Pass at Kechela and descend towards Pho chu valley until you reach village of Thaga.Then you take the path towards north west where the trial will lead to Ladi.

Day 16

Follow the Noth bank of Pho Chu and you will reach to Chuzo village around lunch time. The you leave the river bed and climb up the hill where you can have an excellent view of Thanza village.

Day 17

From Thanza you should climb a large boulder on the hill and after few hours you will reach to yak meadows at Danji.

Day 18

From the camp of Danji and after climbing up rocky side valley you will reach to the summit to Jazela pass. From the pass the route descend to Tshochena whre you will find the spot for camping.

Day 19

On this day the trekking is from Tshochena to Jichu Darmo which will take around five hours after passing Loju La.

Day 20

The trial climbs to the Rinchen Zoe La. dividing the Pho Chu and Mangde Chu drainage. Descending steeply down the trial you will reach to the Thampe Chu. Cross the west bank and you will notice the vegetation growing thicker as you move down. Then you will reach to the camp which is located at Chukarpo.

Day 21

Descend along the right baknk of the river until you reach Galapan Chhu. Here you should climb up the seep slope and you will reach to Thampe Tsho where you will find the camp site at the far end of the Thampe Tsho lake.

Day 22

From Thampe Tsho You should climb up to the pass called Thampe La. From there the path descend towards Om Tsho and the follow the north west shore of Omtsho lake and continue hiking until you reach Maurathang Camp site.

Day 23

From Morathang you will continue hiking down the west side of Nikka chu by horse if avaliable. The trek route descend for four hours until you reach to farm road which will lead you tomain road of Sephu. Here our company’s representative will be waiting for you.
